Catch emails that don't arrive

Updated 2026-10-18

Bilketa only sends from your mailbox; it can't read it. When a supplier's address stops working, their mail server sends a delivery failure notice to you. Forward those notices to your documents address and the order shows Not sent, with a way to fix the address and send again.

Find your documents address in Settings → Notifications or Settings → Forwarding address.

Gmail

  1. Open Settings → See all settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
  2. Choose Add a forwarding address and paste your documents address. Gmail sends a confirmation code; it shows in Settings → Forwarding address in Bilketa.
  3. Open Filters and Blocked Addresses → Create a new filter.
  4. In From, type mailer-daemon OR postmaster.
  5. Choose Create filter, tick Forward it to, pick your documents address and save.

Outlook

  1. Open Settings → Mail → Rules → Add new rule.
  2. Condition: From includes mailer-daemon or postmaster.
  3. Action: Forward as attachment to your documents address.
  4. Save.

What happens to forwarded notices

  • A notice about an order you sent in the last 30 minutes marks that order Not sent and tells you in Worth knowing.
  • Temporary delays are left alone; your mailbox keeps trying by itself.
  • Anything else that arrives this way (an out-of-office reply, a notice about some other email) is set aside quietly. It never becomes a document or a notice.

There is nothing to test: the first email that doesn't arrive shows on its order.
